Back in June, we took Charlie to the Day out with Thomas at Strasburg Railroad.
Charlie is going through a train phase, and she loves Thomas. We found out the Thomas date at the last minute, but because the next time he is here is in September, and John may be away, we decided to be spontaneous, to buy tickets, and to head out to Lancaster.
The day started with us riding on a school bus from the off site parking to the railroad station. Charlie loved the bus ride. Once we got to the train, Charlie was so excited! She couldn’t wait to get on the train.
You don’t actually get to ride on Thomas. But, he does pull the cars that you are riding on. 
It was Charlie’s first time on a train and she couldn’t stop waving at the people outside. She had some huge smiles on her face.
After we rode the train, Charlie had the chance to play on the train tables that were set up. She loves playing with these at Barnes and Noble, and playing near the railroad was no exception.
We have family, on my side, that lives near Strasburg, so we ended up spending the afternoon with them at the Intercourse Heritage Festival.
It’s always nice when Charlie gets to visit with family. Especially with those she doesn’t get to see too often.
The festival was nice. Good food and good company. It wasn’t too hot and there was a nice breeze.
It was just a very nice way to spend the day.
I’m 5’9″, but I always feel short around my twin cousins!
