Tonight:

Me – John, I think the Easter Bunny might bring Allie a princess D-O-L-L in her basket.  (Sidenote – she keeps stealing Charlie’s)

Charlie – I want that too.

M – want what?  You don’t know what I said.

C – I want it.

M – I thought you wanted the Easter Bunny to bring a purple scooter in your basket?

C – I want a purple scooter and that thing you just said.

Gotta love her tenacity, but, no princess dolls in her basket this year.

Fun School Night at our House

Charlie locked herself in the bathroom as John was filling the tub for her bath.

Of course this was when we realized that for some reason the previous owners put a keyed lock on that door. Naturally, we don’t have the key.

So, John broke the door down (hollow core, not too difficult).

After this John said, “Ugh. I’m just annoyed that I have to buy a new door.”

Charlie replied with, “Not now, Daddy. I’m taking my bath!”

Charlie – What you wearing today, Mommy? Pants, and shirt, and underwears?

Me – Yep, kiddo.

Charlie – Let me see your underwears. Are they Hello Kitty?

FYI – They aren’t Hello Kitty. I’m not that exciting.

Charlie – What’s Allie saying?

Me – I don’t know. I don’t speak baby.

Charlie – Doctor Who speaks baby.

Yep, we’ve been watching a lot of Doctor Who in this house lately.

Charlie – I want a pretzel.
Me – You didn’t eat your lunch.
Charlie – You eat my lunch. I want a pretzel.

PS – She’s not getting a pretzel until she eats her lunch.

This evening we stopped at Chick-fil-A for dinner as time is not on our side tonight. John was reading Charlie’s daily to see what she had done in dc today. Then he asked her some questions about the sheet.

J – Charlie, what color do you get when you mix red and yellow?

C – Um…Orange!

J – It says you talked about healthy foods. What are some healthy foods?

C – Apples!

J – What’s another one?

C – Chicken Nuggets!

Last night going to pick up John

C – “Boobies!”
Me – “Yeah”
C – “Mommy,  you have boobs”
Me – “Yeah, when you grow up you’ll have boobs, too.”
C – “No, me no want boobs.”
Me – “You’ll get them when you’re older”
C – “No! No! No boobs! Me no want them!”

And she dissolved into tears as I tried not to laugh in the front seat.

(The picture has nothing to do with this post )

Sometime over the past few weeks Charlie must have overheard John use the word dump.

I went to use the bathroom today and this is what Charlie said to me.

“Mommy!  You taking a dump? P U!”

P.S. I wasn’t.

10 Weird Facts

I was a little bored today so I decided to do this for a blog post.

Here are ten weird facts about my life.  One of them is not true.  Can you guess which one?

1.        I’m almost 12 years younger than my youngest sibling.

2.       I’ve only dated two people.  The first was from junior year of high school through my first year of medical school.  The second I started dating in grad school and ended up marrying.

3.       I’m addicted to Samoa Girl Scout Cookies.

4.       Growing up, we never owned a washer and dryer.  My mom finally got her first set in her house this past year.  (I personally have had one since I got my first place).

5.       I had a rabbit named Thumper that lived in our basement (not in a cage).  It was “potty trained” to go on paper and ate green beans.

6.       I have a nephew that is 2.5 months younger than me.

7.       My mom wanted me to have curly hair, so I used to sleep in pink sponge curlers every night when I was little.

8.       I didn’t wear jeans until I was in the 6th grade.

9.       I was valedictorian of my high school class. I have no copy of my speech and I have no recollection of anything that was in my speech.  I’m guessing it wasn’t too motivational and may have rambled.

10.   I’m allergic to peanuts.
